The composition <I>The Raid</I> came about as a commission by the Sörenberg music association on their 75th jubilee. It loosely follows the Sörenberger legend of Windtrüeb but also tells its own musical story. The legend tells the story of a braveman named Windtrüeb who successfully fought against marauding cattle thieves, but was eventually killed.
